ABOUT US

MISSION

The Iris Diaries is dedicated to telling compelling stories that depict the struggles, triumphs, and choices faced by Filipino medical professionals who must choose between staying in the Philippines or leaving. Through our community blog and digital book, we seek to inspire and encourage medical professionals to find fulfillment and purpose in serving their communities. By promoting communication, sharing ideas, and elevating real voices, we foster an atmosphere that strengthens the resolve to improve Philippine healthcare from within.

VISION

We envision a future where Filipino physicians won't view emigration as their exclusive route to success. Rather, they are motivated to stay and take the lead in building a more robust, caring, and independent healthcare system. In order to turn individual experiences into a national movement for Filipino doctors to remain and practice in their homes, Iris Diaries hopes to be the platform that ignites a sense of optimism, belonging, and change among the people.

VALUES

We value compassion, integrity, and commitment to service. The Iris Diaries upholds the spirit of healing, hope, and unity among Filipino medical professionals.

THE TEAM

The Iris Diaries is a storytelling platform and graphic novel that centers the voices of Filipino medical professionals navigating the choice to stay or leave. Our team behind the project creators, researchers, and artists believes in the power of real stories to spark reflection and change.

The Iris Diaries centers around Filipino medical students exploring their future in medicine. Through illustrated, research-based stories, we celebrate the many doctors who choose to stay and serve their home country, the Philippines, showing how local practice can be purposeful, impactful, and deeply fulfilling.
